I don’t have to work today and thus it’s time to test my boulder skills in the Vertikale in Brixen. Bouldering is a great workout for almost the whole body: You need all muscles from the fingertips to the toes, a great body tense is a must and being flexible helps a lot. But before I start I must warm-up;in my case especially the shoulders, because they hurt a few times in the past. A great exercise for the flexibility of the shoulders and arms is for sure the Ötzi.
Stand up straight with straddled legs and bend your right arm in front of your body to the left. Then the left hand grabs the right elbow and pushes the bend arm slightly backwards. Hold the position and than change to the other arm.
If you ask yourself because I dedicated this exercise to the most famous “Iceman” you only need to have a look at him on the homepage of the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology.
